Extra Virgin Olive Oil

An ingredient with thousands of years behind it. At 20% of Neuroleva, olive oil brings one of the world’s oldest botanical traditions into a modern formula.

Origin

The olive and the Mediterranean

Olive cultivation is deeply connected with Mediterranean civilization. Across centuries, the fruit of the olive tree has been harvested, crushed, and pressed to obtain an oil valued for both its culinary character and its place in everyday life.

That long history matters to us. Neuroleva combines contemporary formulation thinking with ingredients that carry a much older relationship with people and nature. Extra Virgin Olive Oil provides that connection.

Neuroleva did not choose olive oil because it was fashionable. We chose an ingredient that never needed to become fashionable in the first place.

Character

Why “Extra Virgin” matters

Not every olive oil is the same. Extra Virgin Olive Oil is the highest recognized commercial grade of virgin olive oil and is obtained mechanically rather than through chemical refining.

It retains the distinctive character associated with the olive itself. For Neuroleva, that made it a more appropriate expression of the ingredient than choosing a generic refined oil simply because it would be easier to include.

The question was never what can go into the bottle.

It was what deserves to be there.

Role in the formula

The middle of the formula

At 20%, Extra Virgin Olive Oil occupies a very deliberate place within Neuroleva. MCT Oil establishes the foundation. Olive oil brings botanical identity and richness, but it does not dominate the formulation.

That proportion allows it to contribute its character while remaining part of a carefully balanced whole. This is where formulation becomes less about ingredients individually and more about the relationship between them.

Technology changes. Products change. Our understanding of nutrition and wellness continues to evolve. But certain ingredients remain with us.

Experimental Bethlehem Olive Oil – A Unique Processing Concept

A visual interpretation of the very early-harvest olive and prolonged natural maturation concept originating in Bethlehem.

A REVOLUTION IN THE WORLD OF OLIVE OIL

Born in Bethlehem. Crafted by Nature. A Bold New Chapter in the Story of the Olive Tree.

This concept is based on a new and unconventional method of producing olive oil using very young olive fruits harvested approximately three months after flowering, when the fruits are still extremely small—approximately three times the size of a sesame seed.

The young olives are collected and placed in natural burlap sacks. Olive tree branches and selected portions of olive roots are also collected, together with small quantities of the characteristic red soil found in the region.

A specially prepared pit is used for the process. The sacks containing the young olives are placed inside the pit and surrounded by olive branches, roots, and small quantities of red soil. A limited amount of water is periodically applied to maintain controlled moisture.

The olives remain under these conditions for approximately ten months, extending into the winter season.

At the end of the maturation period, the olives are carefully removed and subjected to a rigorous washing and cleaning procedure. They are then cold-pressed.

The resulting oil yield is exceptionally low, approximately 1%, but the oil produced has remarkable sensory characteristics, particularly a distinctive and highly pleasant aromatic profile unlike that of conventional olive oil.

Based on our preliminary observations and traditional use, people across a wide age range who consumed the oil reported positive experiences, including a noticeable sense of well-being. Particularly interesting observations were also reported regarding memory and cognitive function, as well as other areas of health.

The concept represents an experimental approach originating from Bethlehem, Palestine, combining very early-harvest olives with a prolonged natural maturation process prior to cold pressing.
